Try this. It worked for me. https://www.mydistantnetworks.com/RVrequest.revised.070809.pdf

You can call dish and have them change your locals to the area code that you are located. It only takes about 5min for them to switch, no charge...

Just have them activate the new receiver for you. They will send you a new Smart Card for it. As stated above it will cost you $5/month.
I have never had a problem with them in regard to a receiver being in my RV. If you don't power up the receiver and lock on to a satellite at least monthly, the reveiver won't work. You will have to then call tech support, give them the ID number of that unit and tell them to "ping" it for you. They will be only too glad to do that for you and in about 2 minutesz you will be receiving signal again. If you lock on every few weeks you will not have a problem.
We use Dish because we can get the networks on American Direct which is on sat 119, we could ask for the spot beam locals but like the networks on the road. Our friends take their Direct reciever on the road sans locals and then tell them they are in their FL or TX residence and need the local spot beam when they are parked for the winter. Never tell them you are in a MH or you need an RV account with Direct.
DirecTV: We have 2 recivers (2 TVs) in the house. When snowbirding or whatever, we simply take one of the recivers, put it in the motorhome.
When outside our "spot beam"...no problem. We get everything but the "networks"...which again is no problem, we simply put up the antenna, put the "ANT" button on the switchbox, and we're IN! (Why would I care what the weather is in Baltimore when I'm in Phoenix?
In my case, no need to spend an extra 5 bucks a month, nor is it of any importance to us to have the west coast (or east coast) "feed" that other posters have deemed necessary.
Bottom line: pay your bill on time. Tell them nothing...why add complications? You're not stealing......
