I'm new to the RV world as of today. My wife and I picked up a 2008 Starcraft Antiqua. My question is how much weight the beds in the pop outs can handle. The reason I ask is I have two large dogs that usually sleep in the bed with us. At 90lbs a piece plus me at 220 and the wife at 130, will we have issues with the standard supports??? Thanks in advance for the help.

You should have no issues as i beleive that both designs, cables and poles are both rated over 1000lbs.

Did you buy your unit from a private seller or a dealer? If dealer.... they owe you a thorough walk thru of your new toy!! If not keep the questions coming. As said, the ends can handle up to 1,000 to 1,200 lbs. There may be a sticker somewhere on the bunk stating the weight limits. Welcome to the forum!!!

Best ask the manufacturer. Our double bed with cables has a sign that says 400lbs maximum. The queen with the poles has no sticker so should be rated higher.

The starcrafs have a 1200 lbs capacity per bunk. I asked that very question 2 weeks ago when we purchased our 21SSO

Thanks for the quick responses. It does have polls. I did buy it from a dealer. It was a lightly used unit from a non Starcraft Dealer. They were very thorough on the walk through and answered all my questions, but they did not have the specs available on the weight ratings. The sales rep said it was 1000lbs, but the prep guy thought it was only 400. Just wanted to make sure before we all climbed into bed only to fall asleep and end up on the ground. First trip will be next weekend. We can't wait.

Dude! If your wife finds out you posted her weight falling out of the bunks will be the least of your concerns!

My pair of 12 pound Dachshunds use up enough room. I can't imagine two 90 pounders in the bed with two adults.

Yeah.... I thought about that afterwards...Its a good thing she is in love with this camper. Should keep the heat off me for a little while... I hope!!!
We have a Cal King at home and its really not too bad... but the full in the hybrid should be interesting. I have a feeling the dogs will end up with her and I will get my own bed. I'm okay with that too!!!
