DW has ask me to pose a quick question to you full-timers. We have sold our home and are thinking of full-timing it for a while. Do you miss your Stick built home?

We have been "homeless" for almost 7 years and it gets better by the day. The only thing I am going to miss is being unable to drive the RV someday.

I missed mine, the wife more so than I, after being gone for FOUR months in our coach. We love to leave and love to come back. Whats the old saying?? Different strokes for different folks.

We miss our laundry room, I miss my workshop. I do NOT miss the yard work, mortgage payment or unchanging view out the windows. There might be a condo in our future, but I hope no time soon.

I just closed on my house August 21.Been living in the RV at work until I retire in 4 weeks.I don`t miss the property taxes, nor the school taxes,or the county taxes.I don`t miss cutting the grass,I don`t miss every thing else that goes along with home ownership.

And last but not least will NOT miss the cold winters in Philly as I`am heading down to Florida October 2nd.

We're coming up on two years without a house next month. We were just talking about things we missed the other day. The few things on our list were - our hot tub, big laundry room and the garage. We also miss seeing some of our neighbors everyday but keeping in touch by email/phone is plenty for some of the others.....

Things we didn't miss was taking care of all our "stuff". We were able to purge everything from the storage area after 4 months. There is a certain amount of freedom that comes from not having so much "stuff".

We like the freedom to move on when we feel like it. We have found it difficult to be in the right area of the country at the right time. Don't know if that is due to poor planning or what.

Are you asking about your own particular former house and location, or are you asking about those lifestyle features which are germane to living in a suitable stix/brix house?
There are houses and locations which are problematic, and there are those which are much-better suited for continuing the RVing lifestyle,....in retirement.
Many fulltimers come from situations which involved a house which presented significant problems to them, therefore IMO this scenario hardly would result in "missing your house".
For us, there was never any question about which we preferred, for long-term living. We went into fulltiming for the adventure, and for other timely benefits,....but NOT because we actually believed that we would prefer to live long-term in quarters which are THAT confining. We always recognized that large motorhomes were designed for mobility, and for comforts/conveniences during your traveling lifestyle.
I can tell you that living in a new house, OF YOUR OWN DESIGN (for your own particular purpose), and in a location of your choosing, is VERY different than if we lived in ANY of the houses we've previously owned.
HOWEVER, we did NOT give up our motorhome. For us, there is no better way of traveling, or "camping", than in our motorhome.
If we were to give up our stix/brix, YES we would miss it. If were to give up our motorhome, YES we would miss it.
