I replaced my tire air with water. This way, I always have a reserve of water in case my water tank goes dry and I can also see where a leak is in my tires.

funny you mention that, In Utah, around Moab, some enviromentalists claim the air is being polluted by 4 wheelers letting air out of tires (airing dowm) for increased traction. Claiming the air in the tires is from polluted citys.

now that makes sense, i can imagine the air from say like LA or NYC, it must be just full of ozone and pollutants.
good thing we have enviromentalists to keep checks and balances on stuff like this. not everyone would think about stuff like that.

Mark.
Of course, they were Goodyear tires, they didn't need air changes back in the day... That's because they were probably solid rubber then. Michelin was producing tube tires in the US by then.

I use the air in my tires to keep the tires cool so I do not have a blow-out. When the tires feel hot I let the air out and put new air in. This makes the tires last much longer. I keep the air tank (135psi 15 gallon) in the cab of my truck in the Air Conditioning. It takes space but one of the kids is OK with riding in the back of the truck.
I'm just glad I do not have a fifth wheel trailer. Then I'd have to change the air in 5 wheels instead of 4. Not sure why anyone would want a 5th wheel when 4 does just fine. Heck -- my 15 gal tank barely holds enough air now.

Now you've got me wondering about my radiator. I am currently transfering the hot air from these posts into my tires and replacing the cold Canadian air that was probably giving me a rougher ride. Lake Ontario is near by and never freezes over in winter. Should I fill my rad with lake water or wait until I get to Florida and use Ocean water? These motorhomes sure are complicated!
