Hello, its been over ten years since we were in Burlington last. I just made reservations at Burlington's North Beach Campground for October. I know we walked through it years ago but do not remember.
North Beach Campground

So, anyone here ever stayed there?

Comments?

Thanks

Just stayed there the first week of August. Very crowded then but I suspect it will be less so during the fall. Apparently, this campground is very popular with Montreal residents so it was really full in the summer.

On the other hand, it is next to the lake, has a great biking/walking path to give access to downtown areas and has a very good beach area.

Restroom facilities were fine. Our sites were not very large but we spent most of the time touring and with relatives so that was not a big problem. We always use this campground as our basecamp.

Greetings: We just stayed there last week and enjoyed it. The beach and bike path are definately the strong points and the close sites the drawback. Being that it's right in the City of Burlington, makes it a little unique. As an aside, the campground is directly behind the Burlington High School and its football field and you catch a game there is you go on the weekends..

Site 94 was ours in August! What are you in? We have a camper van - it was fine for us at 20 feet - might be tough with a bigger rig - big tree right where your awning will come out - doesn't keep you from using awning - just need to be aware of it. Nice site - I'd use it again - nice grassy area in front of you, so you feel less crowded than on some of the other sites. yes, very popular with folks from Montreal - actually more Quebec plates when we were there than VT or any other state!!! Bike path is great - easy riding - certainly an attraction for us. Were only there for 2 nights, but would go back! Have fun! ST

I have a Jayco 23 B travel trailer, so opened up I'm around 28 feet.
They told me it was a 40' site ? So I guess overall it's 40' ?

Do you remember if it was a 30 amp service?

Thanks

IIRC, you should be OK at 28' - you may have to get creative parking your TV. As far as power goes - I am pretty sure it was 30A - I don't believe I had to use an adapter there... The site faces a quieter tenting area, and the rear gate that leads to the bike path. There is a light pole right on the corner of the site - we were glad it didn't work when we were there! have fun!!! ST

Thanks again for the information on the CG. I also read reviews on RV Park Reviews and it didn't look bad.

Update: What a awesome campground. Here are some pictures and a review.
Please email me of any of you have questions.

Review:
This is one of the nicest campgrounds we have ever stayed at. Our site (#94 Water & Electric) was plenty large enough for our 28' travel trailer. Water pressure was excellent and the quality of the electric was also good. All sites are large, they do not 'shoe horn" you in. Plenty of recreation within walking distance. One being a "off leash" dog park (less then one mile walking south on the bike / walking path) Not that it was a problem for us but the check in office has a 11' clearance, if you are higher then that they will direct you through the exit it access the campground. For GPS Directions type in: 50 Institute Road, Burlington, VT To get to the campground you do need to drive through town, There will be no problems driving through town even with the larger 5th wheels or MH's. One of the biggest positive aspects is the access to the 17+ mile bike / walking path along Lake Champlain and the downtown area shops and restaurants. Stowe is a 30 min drive and we even visited Cabot (cheese factory) and that is around a 60 min drive.

We too have stayed there, and second the replies you have received. I would add this cautionary note however. Soome of the sites are a bit tight, especially for a larger rig. I was supposedly in a site suitable for a 40 footer, my 31' MH barely made it. However, we had a great time, and will be back.
