Have you ever seen pictures of Henry ford, harvey firestone, and thomas edison on their camping trips some of their stuff tipped out.

The oldest slide out I have seen was on a truck camper mounted as part of a Ford Model A. It was all wood as I remember. I think you can rent it at Yosemite Park

Yes, they are often at the RV shows in Chicago. I've talked to the guy who rents them on several occasions.

I too was impressed with DIYGuy's site. I found it during an internet search and was so impressed with the trailer that I went to Spacecraft to check them out. An expensive trip as my 44.5 footer is scheduled to be completed about November 1st! They really are great people to work with and you really do decide everything from the floorplan all the way to window treatments and everything in between. It truely will be a custom rig. Worth the cost if you want something dramatically different and will be full-timing.
