Went out to Glamis last weekend and my fuel station blew a fuse as soon as I flipped on the emergency shut off switch.. real bummer not having fuel for the quads all weekend...After doing some reading on this forum, seems like the heat has caused alot of gears in the pumps to swell and bind up.. does anyone know where I can get new gears for a Graco 260024 in Southern California or online? I tried searching and couldn't find anywhere.. Richardson's couldn't get them either.. Also do I have to drain the fuel before replacing gears? draining 20 gallons will be a pain!! Is there a write up on how to replace them??
My pump quit working also and when I contacted the dealer he said I needed a $40.00 pump rebuild kit. That's when I was dumb so now when that happens I loosen the screws of the pump, tap it to jar the gears loose and tighten it up. No, you don't have to drain the tank....Ask them to explain "swell" on plastic parts designed to be run in gasoline. IMO..
Besides, stuffing the new O ring into the housing is a real bugger....

Mine started doin' the same thing so I crawled under the wagon, loosened up the filltube clamps, removed the tube at the tank, stuck one of those jackoff hoses in and siphoned the fuel into a fuel can......almost faster than useing the piece of junk pump.
