Batteries normally don't use much water if you have a three stage charger. . . some of the earlier rigs have a constant voltage charger which boils the water out fairly quickly as it doesn't back down the charging rate when the battery is full.
Well.. I have a pair of Interstate U-2200's and a Progressive Dynamics 9180 with wizard to feed 'em.. and I do admit I have to add water... Annually (That's right, I've gone 14 months without watering them but annual works better)
DO NOT get a GEL battery.. they are the worst for RV use.. Many folks confuse AGM with GEL because they share several features, Both can be mounted on their side, or on end, or at an angel, even upside down
However where as AGM's can take a charge as fast or faster than a Flooded wet cell..... You charge a gel that fast and you will destroy it.
Optima, is also a bad choice, cause it's only 75% battery (I usually say 3/4 battery at 4/3 price, but frankly, they are more expensive than that)
Lifeline AGM.. Great battery, also expensive, but great battery
But if you are watering more than once a month.. You want to take a good close look at your converter. A very close look in fact.
Also the alternator/regulator on the engine
Nothin adds excitment like something that is none of your business

I agree Costco has good batteries but wherever you buy them check the date of manufacture. Batteries have a finite shelf life. Sometimes the Costco batteries are near the end of their life even if they are "new" on the shelf.
