Did you have to disable your slide out switches inside the RV and the factory switch for the rear stabilizers to make it all work? Curious because my rig came with the remote for the front landing gear yet the switch works them also.

Yes, you HAVE to disable the switches.
If you look at the schematic in the owners manual, you will see how the internal relays are resting at ground.
If you tried to use your OEM switch it will be a direct short.

Now if you want to put multiple relay's in parallel with the OEM switch, then that's a different story...but more work.

Your factory remote is built differently.

I guess you can just use the switches on the side of the ultra fab control box as you 2nd set of switches. As for the wiring, I guess you just unplug the extend/retract wires from the back of the slide (or, awning, jacks, etc) switch and hook them up to the ultra fab as directed?

Yes.

I just took new wires from the motors and taped up the old ones so I can re hook them some day.

there is an antenna that screws in the BNC connector on the side.
Didn't you get the 8 inch antenna?

I guess not? I just thought you hooked a wire up to that or something? Can you show me a pic of yours?

Look at the pic on page one... the right side near the bottom. I bent it in an "s" type shape.

I get the feeling you didn't get a manual either.
Manual here

Ultra fab also has an optional external (outside) antenna for $99

And that extra wire is suppose to be hooked to the trailer plug's +12v and to the terminal on the Ultrafab, so the unit knows when the rig is hooked up and won't accidentally go off.
I phoned the actuall company that makes the unit and told them that trailer plug wire would see +12v all the time, if it was plugged into the tow vehicle or not.
If there is an on board battery or the shore power is plugged in, the remote would never turn on. (once again you could get around this with relays)
They had no answer for me...I could tell they were shrugging their shoulders on the other end of the phone.

Maybe they had to do it to get the government transport people satisfied...?? otherwise it is useless as equipped

I realize you got yours in and installed, but for those considering one for the awning or landing gear with reverse polarity, this company makes a plug and play handsome unit that we just installed for my buddy's A&E awning:

Alta remote Alta is the factory install for Forest River and the system controls the reverse polarity equipment without an mess of relays.

I built my own with a Dakota Digital automotive system that controls the slides, landing gear, generator, awning, entry lights and maneuvering lights - all from a 6 button key fob (shown in Our Mods). It ended up more expensive than an off-the-shelf system, but I had fun.
