I just installed a receiver in the MH and my TV picture is in Black and White, I had it hooked up in the house and it worked fine there, now when I put up the antenna everything is fine, color picture., what is wrong? I have a 311 receiver and a sharp (aquos) tv, I think that is how you spell it. I have not called dish as I think it is something else, and I have the Trac-star dome sat. Thanks for any help, Marvin

I am confused. You say it works in the house. Then in the motorhome it is black and white, but when you raise the antenna, it turns color. What antenna?

I think it means it only is in color if the batwing antenna is up - where you would think the dome satellite should do it. Not sure if that is a Dish problem.

The problem is in the Sharp. I don't remember where but there are settings, I think under digital. Keep looking.

hotrod,
I probably should have been a little plainer, when working off the dome satellite, everything is Black and White, when I raise the local antenna, it works fine, in color...
Thanks to everyone who posted, I too think it is in the TV, I went thro the menu searching but maybe I did not check far enough, I will go back thro that again. Thanks again Marvin

Ahhh, so the local channels are in color, but the satellite feed is black and white. I get it now.

Marvin,

If you are using the "S-Video" input, you may have a bad cable or bent pin.

What imput to the tv are you using for the dish?

Color is the first to go for a bad connection when using coax. If it is not the coax (ch 3 or 4 input) than it is one of the components. The satellite box or the TV.

Easiest way to trouble shoot is to replace the TV with anonther one. But be sure to use the same hookup.

Are you turning the antenna's power booster off?
