have a 04 fleetwood w-22 8.1 engine and need a air filter. i bought one a couple years ago from napa and went back there and they told me they have no listing for the above m/h... anyone use the napa filter for the above year and maybe knows what number filter it is.
if need be i will have to crawl under there and take the old one out, just thought someone would know here before i do that.
thanks

Try one of the other parts stores. Advance carries Purolator stuff which is about as good as it gets. Or find a truck parts store which will have a listing, often for Baldwin. And you can look up the part number on the web by going to a filter manufacturers website.

Check and see if the air cleaner used is the same one as the Corvette, for the same year. Just measure the size and then see how the Corvette element sizes up. I know that mine is the exact same element, but yours may use a different filter box.

If it is anything like a Ford chassis, then I just go down to Oreilly and tell them that I have a F-350 V-10.
I would try telling them you have a Chevrolet 3500 8.1, and I bet they come out with the right filter.

On my 8.1 GM in my '03 Allegro Bay, the air filter is an ACDelco--A1236C or a Wix--46316, maybe yours will be the same. Hope this helps as most parts houses can cross either of these filters to whatever you want.

2000 7.4 L uses air filter A1236C = WIX 46316 = Napa Gold 6144 The last Napa Gold I tried to replace was not of good quality and would not fit the housing.Put the NAPA Gold 6144 that was in there back and when I got across country put in a WIX 46316 because my nephew worked for an Onan service center and got it for me at his cost and gave it to me.

AC Delco is A1236C, WIX is 46316, NAPA Gold is 6316. The Napa 6144 is NOT the same filter/application as the WIX-46316 ! That is probably why it did not fit.
Drop the first digit off of WIX part number and you have the NAPA part # for filters.

22%Over is absoultely right. I have no idea where I got that number. 6316 is written in my manual,6316 is what is sitting on the shelf. The one that didn't fit had 6316 stamped on it and the one that came out was a 6316. Glad you caught that. Thanks! I have changed more often due to the ash and debris from the numerous devastating wild fires we have had to deal with the last few years.
