Is anyone very happy with the Good Sams Emergency Road Service? I'm particularly unhappy with the fact that they now use a recording and you have to go through this list of pressing one, two, etc. for certain conditions. I do not like it, and believe I will not be using their service again next year. When you have an emergency, you need a live person to answer the phone. To me, this would be like calling 911 and getting a recording! Comments please.
What more do you expect from a company that does not have their own ERS, but resells an automobile service, Road America, as an RV ERS.

You will find thousand of satisfied customers, including my self… and you will find people like the Texan that seen to have a personal crusade against them and has never missed a opportunity to flame them…
The automated answer system they use is efficient and tells you right up front if it is a emergency to call 911, then ask what kind of vehicle you have so the call can be routed to the right dispatcher, that handles your type of call… it allows them to handle many more calls at the same time than any other method would…
Good Sam ERS, Camping World road care, and Coach net are the three premiere road services for RV’s… all are cost completive with very few differences in coverage… all of they route you to a call center… none of them own the service units that are dispatched, and all have to continually weed out the bad towing services and recruit new ones…
Almost all of the complaints come from people that either didn’t read or understand the contract and it limitations…
I have used my ERS several times and have been very happy with the call centre and the service…
Love my mass produced, entry level, built by Lazy American Workers, Hornet
We have had Good Sams/Camping World ERS for many years, have had to use them 3 times 1 time for car ,2 times for Motor Home and very happy with them, the last time they sent a big tow truck over 50 miles to us and found a rv shop that could take us right in 40 miles further down the hiway

I too have been pleased with GoodSam ERS - used it several times (flat tire on PUP, tow vehicle wouldn't start-neutral safety switch). The follow up during wait time, during service and afterwards was very comforting.
I've also utilized AAAPlusRV, and was pleased with the service, but not with the dispatcher (didn't quite understand what the situation was).

TaDa. A service owned, operated and in house dispatched, not contracted out to some other company, that was started for the large trucks and then expanded to include RV's. Now it includes automobiles of those subscribers, that have a vehicle the service was originally intended for.
Changed from Good Sams to Coach Net last week. Have never used Good Sams to be able to offer a fair evaluation, but changed to Coach Net who offered a better deal and having real RV techs available for problems.

We are pleased with Good Sam Ers. Had to use them quite a few times for my van and once for the MH. It sure makes me feel better having the security of knowing I'll be taken care of.
NOBODY likes talking to those machines. MUCH better to do as MOST companies do and heir some of the good folks in Indonesia to answer their phones. Some of them can almost speak english as a bonus.
