this is all excellent info thank you everyone, took the trim off today, rather it fell off as i undid the screws, the left wall and the lower front wall are done, wood just crumbles.Put longer screws in the trim to hold everything together for now,and it seems to be ok , not a huge deal, The trailer has sentimental value as well, so a full resto is were i will take it if need be . Im an automotive mechanic by trade for 10 years, and am a jack of all trades.
so i don't think i will have a problem doing this job.
Going to concentrate on the left side to start out and see where it goes
The work will likely start next winter , as i want 1 more season before it comes apart , till then its research time.
Ftw. While Cleaning this gem out I found all the build instructions, wiring diagrams, instructions for the appliances, cabinetry build instructions, sales pamphlets, and specs all in a neatly plastic warped envelope in the cabinet above the sink. I had no idea they included all this in travel trailers.
I will post all this info on the site, as i unpack it for others that may need it
That's the beauty of the crude construction: the repair work is very straightforward for the most part. Well, at least now you know what you are in for. Keep the right attitude and have fun.
Sorry to read what I had expected that you would find dd, When you had pointed out in you film, "that in this corner...." That is how it started out in my re-build of my Jayco T. camper. along with me reaching up to the top of the cab-over while the camper just happen at that time to be on a set of horses. Nonchonately and giving a pull down. Then hearing a breakfast serial type crunches. What an eye opener and the beginning of.....
Snowman, I had never knew about that last highlighted site that you posted. Who ever wrote it hit it right on. I will disagree with he/they on one minner point, the type of caulking he stated. My trade was in construction, there has been developed by the various chemical co. and combination of such chemicals, far better caulks than that. With out stating my preference, if a person sets out to caulk his home, trailer, boat, dog house, what ever today. He should do some research on his labors to assure he is using the right product, put upon the right way. My gosh if you are going to do or have to do it, do it just once. This computer at my front, puts all that right at hand, as per you finding the above mentioned article.
had some set backs in the last few months , am working on it today , i do have recent videos posted, everything is taken apart on the left side, new wood is going in today , and hoping to get the aluminum on the side today.
glade to see people interested in the progress
