Wonder what the story is here. I'm really tempted to go see - I am not far - but pretty happy with my own, known, sound, non-swimming rig.

It's a joke or more likely a scam. Those are pictures of an amphibious motor home that was recently marketed. The video of that thing has made the rounds on the internet, including several posts on these forums with links to it....

If you could actually buy it for that price, it would be a really great deal! That's a Terra Wind amphibious motorhome with a base price of $850,000. If you wonder where the photos in the ad came from, look here and here.

The way I read it with him mentioning his wife creating water damage and the crack about the clean carpets, it's a joke. If the guy was serious he'd have a LOT more details. Email the guy and see what he has to say! Betcha won't hear back from him.

Thanks, you guys have provided some great background on this! Maybe I'd rather speak to his wife and ask her how she feels about it!

There is only Terrawind ever produced to my knowledge.
Contact the owner in the factory link if he is the person posting it on craigslist.
It that is a scam, it would have to make stupidity award.

From the location and remarks about wife driving I thought it was in the bottom of the lake, perhaps it is and he just used the amphid as a catchy photo.

Craigslist posters are notorious for "misquoting" the price. Probably $215,000.00 would be more like it.
