I went from a 1994 Sony 27" CRT to this 52" and can't believe what a jump TV technology has made..........I've always been a Sony fan but right now Samsung is the leader in flat panel technology...
I like our new LCD so much, yesterday I ordered a new Samsung 32" LCD for my bedroom.........I can't wait for the big brown truck to show up!
We had a Sony 27" CRT also and got the LN52A850 and have had it since the first of May. Major League baseball in HD is fantastic. It does have a lot of bells and whistles on it, and I'm still learning.

You can look at 'em in the stores all day and they all look different so its hard to judge. Also whats this new LED deal, why are they so much more?
If saving energy/money is important to you, the new Samsung LED TV's are claiming to save up to 40% in energy over their LCD models of the same size. Also this meens that it will generate a lot less heat in the room you are watching it in. And less heat generated should translate into longer life of the tv.
15 foot eye-to-screen distance means get a projector and screen if you want a true Theater in the Home experience or second best get the biggest tv you can buy.
We have a 56 inch 1080p TV and it does TV great but it can't compete with the PJ and screen for a Theater experience which gives us about a 120 inch diagonal.
TVs are slowly moving to Theater size - like the Mits 82 inch RPTV - not big enought yet for Theater but getting there.
Anywho, with a 15 ft. distance just get the biggest tv you can find and afford - you will never reget having a bigger set but can easily regret a smaller one.
Best of Luck
