My daughters monitor has a transparent red line about 2 in wide on the left side of screen. What could be causing this? Can this be fixed or is it just shot?

Assuming its not under warranty, if a power off/on reset doesn't fix it, it will probably be less costly to get a new one than try to have it fixed in a shop.
