Hey guys. A while back I discovered that the bathroom skylight was leaking. Upon closer inspection it had weathered pretty bad and was cracked. I checked out some of the posts here and like the clean look of the Eternabond on the roof. Will end up doing all of the openings that way eventually.

Anyway, my question is when I put the new skylight down do I need to put a line of caulk underneath the flange for an extra seal, or is the external Eternabond sufficient? If I do put down a line of caulk, what kind would be best? And I assume I put the screws right back down as well.

I know more is better especially when weather proofing a tt, so I may have just answered my own question as far as the line of caulk and screws, I just want to do this right the first time.
Thanks for any replies! You guys are awesome.

I'd put a full bead of Dicor under the flange lip then cover in Eternabond.

Use butyl putty tape under the flange.

I would use double sided Eternabond between the roof and the skylight flange. Then I would use the white single sided Eternabond over the screw heads, and then Dicor on the edges of the Eternabond.

I didn't know they made double sided Eternabond. I will have to remember that for my next fan install.

I used the butyl putty under the top and Eternabond over when I did mine.

I've found a lot of good uses for the double sided Eternabond.

Here I used it to cover the screw heads that don't show.

This is a section of the door trim that has the screws under it. To seal them better I took a 1/4" square of the double sided Eternabond tape and pressed it good over the hole.

Next I wrapped a little of the double sided tape on the screw and reinstalled the screw and the Eternabond will streach up over the screw head sealing the screw.

I didn't want the Eternabond to stick to the plastic molding that goes over the screws, I put a small piece of the backing that was on the Eternabond over each finished screw and then put the plastic molding back in the Channel.

The link in my signature also shows and describes my other uses of the double sided Eternabond on things like exposed screws and clearance lights.

You could also cover the screw heads on things like the skylight with the double sided Eternabond and smooth it out so when the regular roof seal is put on it will conform better over the screws.

Sounds like you just need to replace the plastic top if its cracked. These are common at camping world and most rv dealers parts store. you can get a better one that is supposed to last a lifetime for under 20.00 and replace it in a couple of hours or less if you are handy. easy fix. I did one of mine after a limb fell and hit it.
