We have a 35' 2000 Gulfstream Sun Voyager with 2 slides and the following is what happened,
when we left campground A everything electrical in the Rv was working. We arrived at campground B and only half of the Rv electrical was working. I checked both GFCI and they are working. I checked the campgrounds electric and it is working properly. When I plug my AC volts meter in the sockets that work it register between 110 -125 of coarse it doesn't register in the sockets that do not have power. I checked all my breakers and they seem to be working.

What is not working is the electric hot water heater, coffee pot area and the electrical outlets on the drivers side of the coach where both slides are.Is there another breaker or switch in my coach that I need to locate so I can fix the problem or is it another problem that I am unaware of. This is our first problem we have had since we went full timing in May 2009.

I have a 50 amp coach but we are hooked up with a 30 amp boot because the campground only has a 30 amp service.

Thank you in advance for any help you can give us.

Assuming you have 50 amp service. Remember, that the 50 amps is split into 2 110-125 feeds. I would start with the transfer switch and see if I had power on the input legs and then on the output legs. Be very careful as your working with LIVE voltage! If that checks out I would look at the inputs at the fuse box.

If you have an inverter I bet one of the circuits on that tripped.

Disconnect from the pedestal and start your generator, see if everything works. If it does then, if you have a 50 amp coach and are currently hooked up to 50 amps, use a 30 amp dog bone, if you have one and plug into the 30 amp, if there is one at the pedestal.
I had the same problem years ago and when I switched to the 30 amp plug in everything worked, except of course the 2 A/Cs at the same time. I ended up switching sites.

I unplugged my 30 amp and then started the generator and everything in the coached worked, but when I plugged back in to the 30 amp ( that is all they have here )I only get half service. I even switched out the 30 amp boots to see if the new one was bad.

I agree with T Mitchell's post. Switch sites and see what happens. I had the same thing happen to me in Bullhead, Arizona and it was the sight. I switched sites and it worked perfect.

Check your pedestal for a 20 amp circuit with the 30 amp. Don't know where you are but they do make cheaters for that situation. Maybe a trailer or rv supply store or perhaps even the campground may have one. One other thing, if that 20 is a GFCI the cheater won't work. Most camps without 50 do not have GFCI either.

It sounds like your 30 to 50 adaptor is defective
Can you borrow some one else's and try it?

Is this fuzzy math? Or has electricity changed? If there are devices available to upgrade 30 Amps to 50 Amps, why are all the older campgrounds wasting money digging in the ground and running new wire and pedestals. They could, if these devices existed, simply say "That is your responsibility. We have the 30 amps right there." Adapters are just that. The do not step up voltage or amps. They just supply a different configuration to allow you to get some power as opposed to getting no power. RVdude, you proved, when you ran the generator, all your systems in the coach work. As soon as you plugged back in to shore, your systems shed items as needed to run some items on available power. RVDude, have you not told us, at least twice, all they have for power where you are is 30 amps? Relax, run the gen if you need it. You are RVing in the fall.

What you are calling a "boot" to go from your 50 amp connector to plug into a 30 amp CG pedestal sounds to me like it is defective OR one side of your RV main circuit breaker is tripped. You need to flip the main breaker all the way off then back on.

What should happen, the 30 amp boot ties the two 120V prongs on your 50 amp cable together allowing you to have 30A @ 120V into your coach. All outlets should work you will but you will be limited to 30A.
