We've been RVing since 1973 and with the exception of Disney World when are children were little, and deer hunting trips, I can't remember staying in the same campground more than twice.

Didn't know you can drive from Hawaii
We did have couple of seasons when we were going to the same lake. Trailer and boat were in the storage 1/2 mile from the campground and we could zoom there in SUV in 1.5 HR. Averaged 45 camping days a season just with extended weekends.
That was a year after our 12,000 miles single trip vacations
There are a few reasons we continue to patronize the same campground...50amp service, full hook ups, pool, 2 jacuzzis, free wifi, free hors d'oeuvres, free TV, free laundry, free shuttle service, free coffee, tea or hot chocolate, free newspapers, dog park and 17 bucks a night...other than that, it's a dump......Dennis.

We bought into Coast 2 Coast and our home campground is only 3 hours away. So we go b/c it's already paid for. Plus Gettysburg is one place where there's always something new to discover. We go about 3-4 times a year. But then we do head out at least once a season to somewhere new.

As my name here suggests, I like to ride and see the country. My wife either shares this interest or pretends to. I like to take long trips. and she is always ready to go. Have a need to know what is around the next bend and what is down little side roads. Since retirement in 05 we have traveled more than 50,000 miles in our truck camper. On these trips it was just the two of us. We also like to stay in State Parks with a small group of friends. On these trips we use our fifth wheel. We make about 5 trips each year with these friends. With this group, we do visit some places repeatedly and some just once. The two types of trips have different purposes. Both are enjoyable.
Most of my trips are weekend ones. There is one particular state park with well isolated campsite, no hookups, and peace and quiet. This is where I usually go.
My longer trips, I explore other places.
When I retire, I plan to travel around the country.
Both of us started traveling/"seeing the country" when we were quite young. We've owned our own businesses, and could "get away",....plus we've owned our own aircraft. We did a lot of 'efficient' excursions by aircraft, on our own schedule. I also worked many years as a charter pilot, flying executive jets to many destinations in the USA, Canada, Mexico, Central and South America, plus much of the Carribean. Many is the time when I would be on a multi-day layover, and my wife would fly commercial to meet me. I loved THAT job.
Through the years, we've owned a total of 6 motorhomes, primarily so that we could conveniently take our 2 small dogs. It's a great way to travel, if you have the time,.....which we do,.....NOW.
However, we love our new house and there's lots to do right here in our city and our state. We're kicking back, slowing down, doing some fishing,.....and my wife is a quilter, big time. Our favorite lakes are Toledo Bend and Amistad (we have a place with hookups at Toledo Bend, Louisiana side).
BUT, let's be clear. We have ALWAYS been restricted by 'budget'. And, today it's even a bigger factor. To be honest, we simply do NOT have sufficient money to do everything. But, we have GREAT memories. And, we still have the good fortune to be able to jump in the motorhome(which is parked in our backyard), and GO......
