I have the 2007 version.
What I use to transfer the routes is a small program called GPSbabel.

Very easy to use.

GPSBabel works great. As I understand with S&T 2010 you have to be connected to the Internet to move routes to your Garmin since S&T doesn't really do it but something else does it on the Internet.

The Garmin 265WT gives you a lot of bang for your buck... Have been happy with ours.

It gives you the option of using their pay MSN Direct service (looks like just another monthly fee) or connect via USB cable. You are supposed to be able to export the GPX file to Bing maps to share your route with someone. But I'll be darn if I can figure how to do it. I even Binged it but no help.

I think that moving a 2010 Streets and Trips route (well, its waypoints) to a Garmin is straightforward. Here's a video:

I agree with having a larger screen, it sure beats squinting at a very small GPS handheld screen. Here is Street Atlas 2009 running on our 32inch HDTV.

The software is running on a Micro AT (under the dash),using a wireless keyboard/mouse. My wife thinks is really great, now she is truly the navigator with the keyboard.
