We are looking to travel a bit further and were looking at southern Mississippi. What are your experiences? We would like to do other activities away from the campground as well. Beach camp grounds are also being looked at before it gets cold

Ive stayed at the campground on hollywood casino in bay st louis. nice park and convenient to beaches. I believe there are still some fema trailers at a lot of the parks in mississippi, and look at the others well because most of them were devestated in the hurricane and although some have recovered others the last time i was in the area(last fall) were not too good.

We are headed down to Hollywood in Bay St. Louis tomorrow. If the weather will cut us some slack, we will have some pictures to put up and have update on an update on the coast. Last I heard on the shrimp were $2 a pound on gumbo size and $3.50 on the big boys.

Hollywood Casino RV Park was very nice in my opinion. Nice set up, not too close to your neighbor. Got my players card and they give you $25 to start. I won enough playing with their money to pay for the stay. The casino shuttle comes by every 10-15 minutes and the security people were very friendly as were the rest of the staff. Nice, clean park. Plenty of room to drive, even for the big rigs. Thumbs up.

We were in Biloxi in July. We stayed at Majestic Oaks RV . The CG was really nice, concrete drive and parking pads, full hook-up, nice landscaping and great staff. It's not on the beach but an easy drive only a mile or so. Unless you gamble there's not much else to do in Biloxi. Katrina almost stripped the beach clear of hotels, shops and restaurants. The beach has been restored. Some businesses have rebuilt but not many. The big casinos rebounded quickly and are open for business.

We stayed at Cajun RV Park in Biloxi several times. It's across the road from the beach and convenient to the casinos and restaurants. Very nice folks and nice sites.

I agree with the Hollywood Casino in Bay St. Louis suggestion. However, if you are willing to drive just a couple hours more you could make it to Gulf Shores which has a much nicer beach and the water in the Gulf is prettier. And if you are willing to go just another hour or hour and a half you can be in Destin and could stay at Henderson Beach State Park which is worth the drive for its beauty. There's no comparison between the water and beaches between the MS Gulf Coast and the FL Gulf Coast. I go to both often.
