So, you guys that didn't buy at Lazy Days and went elsewhere to save $20K or whatever?

Did you actually make an offer to Lazy Days for the lower amount?

Or are you talking about Lazy Days asking prices?

I don't know. I would think that if they could make a little money, they would. Rather than none.

I showed LD the quote I got from another dealer and they stated flat out they wouldn't meet it. They missed by about $15K on a $180K coach.

I know lots of people that bought from LD and they rave the attention they got. One fellow bought several Fleetwoods from them, the last one, an Eagle. He had an AC fail twice in the first year. The second time was on a Thursday before a football game and he didn't have time to get it in. LD sent a two techs out and installed a new AC in his driveway under warranty.

This only adds to the idea that you get what you pay for, sometimes! Unfortunately paying more doesn't guarentee you will get more but it is great to hear a dealer that may not have the absolute best price but goes above and beyond when it hits the fan! As one person's sig on here says the fan always wins! So good backup is a great thing to have.

When I went to Lazy days a few years ago to buy a used coach, they were nice ,gave me and my family lunch, had my kids swim in their pool while I shopped for an RV. And if they were just a little higher than the next guy ,I would've bought there. But they were a lot higher. I.E. they wanted $38k for a similar coach that I bought elsewhere for $31k. And the one I bought was cleaner and had 25k fewer miles.

Did you make them an offer of $31k or less?

I don't remember the details, but I remember that we shopped for our coach on the internet, and got the lowest price we could find, and sent the price to LD. Never heard back from them.

No hard feelings. Guess they just couldn'r match it. Plus we picked up our coach in Ohio which was a lot closer to us then Florida. It was a nice place though.

We bought a pre-owned older Class A at LD so we couldn't have saved $20k somewhere else as it only cost $30k at LD and was near average retail NADA value.

LD found a TON of problems during their pre-delivery inspection and corrected them at no additional charge - one item that comes to mind is complete replacement of the main awning and the supports.

They also re-worked the hot water heater and various shower/bath components.

We also appreciated that we could stay in our coach for two days prior to our accepting it and we tested EVERYTHING and we found other things that needed replacement or adjustment.

When we drove our coach home we were satisfied that EVERYTHING was in perfect working order and we have had to do only minor and expected maintenance during the five years we have owned the machine.

Yeah, maybe we could have paid a bit less had we bought from another source but we sincerely believe that paying a bit more at LazyDays was more than worth it.

I have heard from friends at the football lot that is a good place to by a used unit as they are somewhat discriminating on what they take for trade-ins and don't screw around with bad units eg water damage, rust, etc.

When I was shopping for a Tiffin, I called LD. They wouldn't come close to the price offered by other dealers. They wanted to take me for all I'm worth. Needless to say, I took my money elsewhere. I guess that is why they are now going under while the others dealers are still around....

I've tried to deal with Lazy Days 3 times and every time they were 20-30% higher. I took them a deal I had on a Montana with Suncoast and asked them to show me what they could offer for the same money and they were showing me significantly smaller and less expensive trailers. When I told the salesman this, he then started showing me used rigs. I gave him one more chance and he offered the brochures to me as a souvinier. Never again will I try to deal with those arrogant salesmen. I friend of mine bought a fiver from them and got such bad service, he also said he'd never deal with them again.
