I want CGs to show as I drive down the road. It sure helps when you're looking for one the first time. I went to 'options' and set up the section that allows you to select one-way streets, churches, etc. I saw nothing about CGs there. How do you go about it? Thanks. Jim
On my 2009 Street Atlas, I go to "FIND", then POI and put in "campgrounds" for KEYWORDS. Then you can put in XX miles of map center and search. I know this works when not moving, but don't know if it follows you during your travels or whether you have to refresh the search periodically.
I have used this to find campgrounds, but it certainly doesn't find all of them available. I supplement with Woodalls or Trailer Life.

This is on my 2008 Street Atlas: Go to the GPS tab, click on the "Turn on/off various GPS features" box, click on the Map Features tab, then select the "Use custom points of interest" box, then click on the Customize POI's box. You should be able to select campgrounds there.
If you have the plus version, you might want to check out a program called RV Directions. I have added it to my 09 plus and it allows you to add campgrounds to Delorme that show up on your map. It will give you lots of info about campgrounds, such as cost, size, phone, driving directions, lat, long, etc. Only drawback is that you must have the Plus version. www.rvdirections.com You have to pay for the program.

Me & Bobby: I went thru your steps in my house (GPS is in window and found the satellites), but when I move the screen over to a local CG, there is no marker on the map---even though it told me how far away the CG was. What I want is to have all CGs appear as I drive down the highway. Then eventually when I drive near the CG that I want to stop at, it will automatically show on my screen. I've seen this in my other Street Atlases (2005-2009), but not in 2010. It's gotta be there somewhere.
I was vague in my original post about the 'path' I took. Here's what I did: options>map features>check off the items I want i.e. one-way streets, town boundaries, etc.>use custom point of interest>apply>OK.
When I close the program and reopen it, I have to RE-set all of these again. That shouldn't be! It should not go back to my original defaults.
I also went to my GPS tab, but in the 2010 version there is no 'turn on/off various GPS features' box---that I saw. So I'm still at 'square one'.
Sorry, I do not have the 'Plus' version
On my 2009 Street Atlas I tried "Options","MAP Features" tab, and selected business POIs (major). That should have campgrounds show up. I also verified that "camping and RV Park" was checked by using the "custom POIs" feature under the "Map Features" tab . In neither case did the campground show up automatically, only when searched for using the Find tab.
The only other thought I have is to try the Delorme Street Atlas Forum. A quick look at the FAQs didn't turn up any help.
There are two ways to find campgrounds along your route. You can find all campgrounds along your route by right clicking, Find Travel POIs, and Along Route (specify distance from route). You can also do the same thing on the Find tab. Or you can use GPS Radar in the Find tab. Set it to campgrounds and specify the distance from your present location you want to search. It then shows campgrounds within the specified distance as you travel.
If you want to display POIs that are already in 2009 Street Atlas you go to "Options" then click the "Map Features" tab then check the "custom map features" box then click the "Custom Features" botton and then select the custom POI you want displayed. Note that Delorme has defined the level at which the POI will display so you need to be zoomed in to that level or more (i.e. levels 11 to 17). If you are zoomed out too much they don't display.
GPS Radar under the "Find" tab works as well if you select search for "Custom" and check the repeat search box.
Another option is to use the map overlay draw layers feature for adding POIs. Go to the Discovery Owners website, download and unzip the campground or parks AN1 files you want and save them in the drive:\Delorme Docs\Draw directory that was created when you installed the program.
To use go to the "Map Files" tab, on the right click the "Add Files" button, select "Draw files", click on the AN1 file of your choice.
The zoom level the icon will start showing up is defined using the "Draw" tab. Select the icons on your display and it will then show the details for that draw object. One of which is "Reduce Size at Zoom" enter the level you want, then the "File" button and then over on the right the "Save" button. This screen shows which draw files are open and whether they are displayed (checked) or not. Click "Done" to leave this menu.

J & BB--Let me work with your replies today (computer was in the shop) plus I may call DeLorme tech via phone. I'll let you know if I can get this solved. Thanks. I may even have to experiment when we take a 3 day trip next week. Jim
