A few years ago we had a TV ad in the UK promoting sold fuel heating with the tag line of "Come home to a REAL fire"

I guess we could re-invent it

"Come home to a REAL fire ..... buy a Norcold refer"

Sorry
There is to much truth in this to be sorry about. I look for the Government to force a mandatory recall shortly. The recent fires have all been models not included in their voluntary recall.

While my Norcold is not officially on their recall list, I bought an automatic fire suppression unit for the fridge compartment since it is well known that there have been a number of fridge-related RV fires.

Norcold claims the fridges must be on gas to become a fire hazard. Is this true?
Absolutely NOT. There are electric elements in the same area as the gas to heat the coils. If this was true, why would Norcold be installing a heat sensor in the area to kill ALL sources of heat .

Guess I read something wrong. Which is exactly why I ask. Thanks Texan. I better research this some more. Mine's not on any recall but neither was the "O" ring on the shuttle, right?

Another Santiam had the same problem a couple of weeks ago, this was at Sandy Lake RV Park in the Dallas, TX area. Woke me up with the fire truck lights. Happened around midnight. Next morning, the rig looked just like the pictures above, again the refer was the problem.
