We're getting a Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier puppy for Charlie next month. She's 10 weeks old right now. I guess we are going to call her Katie. The one thing I'm not looking forward to is the potty training. My husband said it will be nice for Charlie to have a play mate. What started it is the breeder called us and was wondering if we would like to have a sister for Charlie. She said this little puppy is very mild and will go with Charlie's alpha personality.

This is what she will look like when we get her. 3 to 4 month old wheaten

She is on the right. We will get her in a couple of weeks.

No your not nuts. We bought a Yorkie so our Rat Terrier would have someone to play with. They now are together 24/7 and can't live without eachother. If I take one to the vet the other sits at home crying until he comes home.

We'll I'm certainly not going to call you nuts. We have 7 and are planning another litter (we’ll keep 2).

Good luck.

The reason I'm saying we're nuts is because it's so peaceful around here with one dog. He-He

How do you know which puppy is a mellow one. Our breeder had a female puppy for us, but when I told her Charlie was an alpha dog she said this puppy wouldn't work out for you. We were going to wait next year for another litter. A week later we get a call on another little puppy that fell through with someone else. The breeder said she's mellow and a beautiful.

By watching day in and day out how the litter interacts with you, the mother, other dogs in the house, their littermates, and the environment you can get an idea about each pup's personality. However, pups do change based upon the environment they are raised in. In our last litter we could easily tell which ones were dominant, which ones were more submissive, which ones were bold, and which ones were more timid.

Thanks for the information, congratulations on your new litter. The breeder calls her purple girl. I suppose she's wearing a purple ribbon.

Nuts, it is all relative. Was just waiting to see when you thought it would be time to add a 2nd one again. Charlie will love it. The puppy is so cute, he will have your heart in no time. We will need pictures and updates. LOL
