We have been going through the same hunt. We have almost given up and started looking at mid profile fifth wheels. Don't want a behemoth fifth wheel but as you described. Go th Open Range and look at the journeyer TT series, The model 337rls is the exact floor of their fifth wheel. Nice trailer and lots of room. Only issue I have is its lack of underneath storage. For a trailer this size it is smaller than
my current KZ. I am so concerned I have moved it down our list.

I did look at a couple of the Open Range trailers. I must say they build a pretty fair product. But the local dealer for that manufacture dropped the line, and there is not another nearby.
