Everything was going along just fine when out of the blue, no internet...rebooted computer of course and tried the Alltel air card on it's own...it is working fine but the Cradlepoint is flashing on the top of the router where the little icons are. I tried resetting it and nothing...any ideas that I may be missing? 3G Store is'nt open until Monday morning and we really need two computers going tomorrow night for work...TIA...

Is the little "cellphone icon" green or orange? If orange then then either the cell site is down or something like that. Go into the router via the IP address and see if it shows connected. Good luck.

All the little icons are flashing green very, very fast. Like I mentioned, the air card works fine by itself...Here is the error message I get when the air card is in the router and does work on it's own...

The CradlePoint CTR500 could not find an attached WAN device.

Please connect a WAN device and try again.

If the problem persists please refer to the CradlePoint CTR500 Help section for potential reasons.

Change your login and security settings by selecting the CradlePoint CTR500 Setup section.

Viajo,
I assume that you have turned the power off of router and let it sit for 30 secs or so. Are you plugged into commerial power versus a generator or inverter? Do you have a 12V DC power adapter that you can plug into a 12 Volt DC power port. If you have the 12 Volt DC adapter and it works you might have "dirty" power such as low or high voltage or non-pure sine wave AC power if you are running off of a generator or invertor.

If you are desperate for two computers running, you can perhaps run the computer with the data card as an ICS (Internet Sharing Connection) server and use a crossover ethernet cable to connect the two PCs together. What operating systems are you running in the PCs?

PM me if you like.

Are you using an extension cable of some sort to connect the aircard to the router, or are you connecting it directly?

I also have the 500 and was using an extension cable that just went bad one day and caused the same symptoms.

Sometimes you have to go into the program and get it to recognize your computer. I have a son who knows how to do that for me.

Plug the aircard directly into one of the computers and see if it works. This will eliminate the aircard/cell phone company from your list of suspects.
