Those of us who live in a climate that requires winterizing and calling it quits for 2009, how many more camping trips do you have left? My DW and I have 3 more trips left, ending the 2009 season after November 8,2009.

Upstate NY. Camping as I write this and plan to go twice more before Halloween and then pack it up, winterize and donate the left over food staples to the Food Cupboard and then leave the peppermint oil cotton balls to deter any critters.

We have NO trips planned until we head for Texas in three months but will probably head out to some place local (within 50 miles or so of home) a few times yet this season. We usually try to get out and see the local fall colors once or twice.

Here on the edge of Lake Erie and usual late fall snows, we will most likely be done next weekend. I HATE putting her away for the winter. Will start counting the days to an early spring trip to Brisol.
I ran the pink stuff into my lines today, but for all I know, I'll have to flush it out and go someplace. It only takes a few minutes to go from winterized to "ready-2-go".
We never stopped because of winter. Before we were able to head for warmer climates we would winterize and then use jugs of water for consumption, paper plates and cups for eating, and carry a porta-potty with us if we had room in the rig of the time or use whatever facility was available. We have, occasionally, found ourselves using the holding tank and flushing with windshield washer fluid or pink stuff.
I never wanted to tow in the snow so I would watch weather forecasts closely in the years that we used towable units.
Two more trips planned this month, then I winterize, however, if opportunity presents itself, we may go out and camp using the dibandjohn method. This is our first trailer with a head and we know rustic camping well!
I guess I am not suppose to chime in but our camping season is just beginning. We have not been out since the middle of June. We summerize our TT.(summerize = park it in the drive way.) Cant wait until retirement when we will be the opposite of snowbirds. The good news is spring is just around the corner.
The way things are going in North Dakota,(winter storm watch in the SW part of the state Mon and Tues) probablly all done, all though we will hopefully get an indian summer before Halloween. DW may have to do some doctoring in Rochester, MN at Mayo Clinic here soon so will pull the Montana there. Already doing the countdown for spring

Every year I see these posts and I feel bad that you have to winterize up north. I've never had to do it but from what I hear you guys talking about, it's a real pain. I'm not taking a cheap shot. Ya we can camp all year but I really would like a change of season.
