I appreciate any CEO or other manager responding about a problem at their stores. When I had a problem with the service department at the Albuquerque CW, I sent an email to CW and I did get a response with an apology and a comment about them looking into the situation.
As much as I appreciated their response, by then I was already several hundred miles down the road, I had the problem taken care of at another service facility, and had put CW behind me. I'm not sure about most consumers but I would rather not have had the problem to begin with than to have a dozen apologies after the fact. We travel a lot and I am sure that altho we will be going thru Albuquerque again I will not be stopping at that CW for service to see IF they have corrected any deficiencies.

I too would like to see all the RV industry be able to respond to the postings here not just CW. As there are always two sides to every story........
I hope a moderator will clarify this issue. My belief is that this rule is in place to avoid unnecessary and unwanted postings asking for our business. I do not think it is there to keep companies from giving their side of the story should some issue arise. The two threads above are indicative of two way conversation. Mr. Leomonis has said he is posting as a private individual but answering questions related to CW. If you search, you will find many threads where companies have responded to issues posted on this forum, and we welcome their responses......Dennis
Wasnt there another thread a while back where a manufacturer was allowed to voice their side?
Yes, Karl Blade owner of Newell Coach corrected some false statements made by a person about Newell.
I see no reason why an owner or a company representative should not have the right to correct false information posted on this or any site. That is not soliciting business it is defending your business against false statements or claims. If this forum were to strictly enforce the stated rule then they should adopt the rule that no manufacturer, product or company could be mentioned by name by anyone. In that case the effectivness of the forum would drop to almost nothing.

Mr Lemonis is a great guy. He contacted me personally on an issue I had and made sure that everything was to my satisfaction. He kept me as a Camping World customer and is probably the main reason they are still in business. If he said he will do something he will do it I am sure.

The new thing in corporate America is keeping track of what is being said on things like: forums, facebook, twitter, etc... Some companies even have created whole new IT departments for this sole business function.
Because of the increased use of the Internet, a company can now lose or gain business thru this media type. I'm guessing if something was said that was negative, a rebuttal was fast in coming.
Mr. Lemonis was just responding to a question of mine - nothing negative. I had started a forum thread asking about getting a CarFax for a RV and he responded with information and buying tips. It was not a promotion of CW or anything like that. A very generic answer that could be applied to any RV buying situation. He also suggested that I contact him direct if I had any other questions and he would be glad to help if he could.
So, I did. I asked why CW had a policy requiring a refundable $500 deposit to bring a RV from out of state to a CW closer to my home and stated I couldn't tie up deposits at every dealership I was shopping at. The CW salesman wanted me to pay the $500 deposit, then he would have the RV brought to his dealership from out of state, then if I decided I didn't want to buy it, the deposit would be fully refunded. I understand the theory - but can't afford to tie up $$ at every dealership I am visiting these days. I'm doing serious shopping and have visited MANY dealerships during the last couple of months. $500 deposit here, $500 deposit there - it adds up quickly. He responded quickly that he would take care of it - no deposit will be required. I will be contacting the salesman this afternoon to arrange everything.
So - Mr. Lemonis was not promoting CW or responding to a negative comment. He was simply offering buying tips and answering questions. Therefore, very impressive!!! And because of the way he responded - and did not promote CW or pressure me to buy from CW in anyway - he now has a new customer. The way he treated me will go a long way toward making my decision to buy the RV and for shopping in the after-market.
All CEOs should take a lesson from that.
Shopping around - driving everyone crazy with questions...

Yep. The RV is at the Spartanburg, SC, CW which is about 5 hours drive for me. Not bad - but the Colfax, NC, CW is much closer. They'll have someone bring it to Colfax and I can see it and test drive from there.

And the fact that he posted his e-mail and phone number says allot to me. It would be really easy to just ignore the criticism and go with the old saying that "You cant please everyone". I personally have had pretty good luck with Camping World and now know that if I have a problem I can contact Mr.Lemonis directly and hopefully get my issues resolved.
It's funny how everyone gives Tiffin such great comments regarding how Bob Tiffin is all about customer service, and he stands behind his products and see's that things are made right. Then Mr. Lemonis with CW comes on RV.net to clear up some issues posted and offers his e-mail and phone #, and then some make comments and post the forum rules about how corporations are not allowed to post. I understand there are rules in place to keep the forums from being a way for company's to promote and advertise what they are selling, but Mr.Lemonis is not doing that. I think it is great that the CEO of CW is willing to take the time and seems to really care about us the customer. I have not once seen Mr.Lemonis try to promote CW or its products on here. He has been posting and answering questions regarding customer service. I for one wish more company's would take this approach.
Well stated, I could not concur more.

I also had an issue that Mr Lemonis handled perfectly with a toad setup....I only wish that the zeal he has "trickle down" to the store level.
