Do dogs have allergies to goose down (in reference to comforters/bedding)?

Yes they can, but not a common one. We do testing on many environmental substances and it's amazing the different things they can be allergic to.

It could also be something on the bedding (i.e. laundry detergent or softener).

Thanks guys, I'll see what they have in regards to an alternative fill comforter, but it's hard to beat those goose down ones.
If I go with the goose down, I better ask what their return policy is. If either one is allergic, they ain't gonna like sleeping on the floor that's for sure!
Oh well, that's what I get for spoiling the two kids...LOL

as we continue to explore Jake's allergies, the vet pondered whether he might be allergic to humans ... just as humans can be allergic to dogs.

That would be a real bummer! I glad we got the human, dog thing handled. Now the listening part, well we're working on it...LOL
They tell me I don't listen, and I tell them they need to listen to me...go figure...Kids
Thank goodness they don't go to collage or drive...or I'd really be in trouble.

A year or so ago I was having more allergy problems than typical.
The nurse in the allergist's office asked if I was possibly being exposed to more of my allergens than typical.
I said yes, but really didn't think going from 8 dogs to 9 really was the problem.

When I had my dog allergy tested, the panel included "human epi". Which I assume means epidermis. So . . . yes, they CAN be allergic to humans.
FWIW, the allergy panel also included dog hair. I've always wondered if that meant a dog could be allergic to itself? Or would it just be other dogs?
Pops--My dog tested allergic to "mixed feathers". Which I assume would probably include goose down. So it's included as an ingredient (for lack of a better word) in his desensitization serum.
