If he's a good friend he'll tell you if there is anything wrong with the unit. If something goes wrong with it after you own it and he didn't tell you about it then you being that same good friend will not blame him for it.

Low NADA retail is in my opinion top dollar in todays market. Anything over that is money spent towards "Good Will" to a friend. Someone suggested to check What similar MH's have sold for at PPL thats is also a guideline but In the past when I checked the prices were all over the place for the same MH's That I was considering 9 - 12 months ago.

Itasca Spirit is at the top echelon of their class C models and have many standard features that are extra on other manufacture MH's. Itasca/Winnebago has good quality construction, fit and finish are towards the upper end of class C manufactures.

For what it's worth, in January I purchased a 2006 Winnebago Outlook which would be similar to the Spirit series. Not the same floorplan (24 foot) with 7,500 miles and we paid $ 32K which was 10% below low NADA from a private party. The seller said that the dealers were not buying at the time and offering way less than we agreed to. The market may have changed in 9 - 10 months. We are very happy with our Outlook and feel we got a great deal.

I'm always amused when I read this kind of a suggestion. Mine has very low hours on it and if and when I try to sell my motorhome, I will merely calculate out what it would take and just start the gen. set up and run it for enough hours. I remember a prior post where somebody quoted a price of $300 or so if non-use caused a problem and If I could have essentially a brand new gen. set for $300 extra it would be worth that to me.

About the genset:
$300 is about right for the typical gummed up carb/replace with new routine.
BUT: Running periodically also drives moisture out of the generator section's windings.
It's not common, but in some cases an unused genset is junk because the windings corroded and expanded to where the rotor would not turn.
