For this winter I want to settle in a small town in North or Central Florida. I am looking for a friendly quaint type town and a small friendly campground with a reasonable monthly rate. If anyone knows of such a combination, I would appreciate your help. Thanks.
Check out Cross Creek Country Club & RV Resort in Arcadia, FL. Some camping friends used to stay there all winter. They apparently charge for the `year' but the cost is less than paying another campground for several months. Hope that makes sense.

Check out Rivers Edge Campground at Holt, Florida. It,s located about two miles off Hwy 10 about 40 or 50 miles east of Pensacola down by a river. Nice and quite.
Check out Olde Mill Stream in Umatilla. We spent last winter there and are on our way there for this year. A beautiful resort with warm and friendly people. Owner and management are top notch.
I spent some time at Half Shell Resort on the St. Johns River just south of Palatka. Kind of an old Florida fish camp ambiance. Very quiet, yet close to shopping and St. Augustine attractions within a 30 min. drive.
Check out Camp Florida Resort in Lake Placid. It is in central Florida just below Orlando. They have a website! http://www.campfla.com/index.php

Turtleback RV Resort in Lake Panasoffkee offers a lot of peace and quiet with necessary amenities nearby. It is centrally located and makes daytripping fantastic. Management is helpful and the in-park amenities are great.
