We have a 4 door Norcold frig in our RV. As I always do, I turned off the water to the coach when we left for a week and then turned it back on when we returned. The ice maker has not been working since. The only thing I did different was to not turn off the ice maker prior to turning off the water. Is there a way to reset the ice maker? Is that the problem?

Is it frozen up? If so turn a hair dryer on it.

Do you mean ... you did not lift the "SHUT-OFF" wire? Is it in the down position? Are you running the fridge on LP or 110?

You can try to unplug the ice maker in the back of the refrigerator, (behind the outside cover). Hopefully, with the ice maker left on with no water going to it, the ice maker is not burnt up. Also check to see that you do not have ice built up around the drop tray.
Can you hear the ice maker trying to work at all? You can also loosen the inlet water line to the ice maker and bled the water line. To do this you will need to make a 110V jump wire to the ice maker solenoid valve. Let us know what you find out.

The only on off for the icemaker is the bale over the ice bucket... Or unplugging it from its power source.
It will take some time for the ice maker to produce ice..
Pretty sure you have done all this but here are the questions I ask myself; Is there water going to the ice maker? If not hooked to shore water is the water pump on and water in the tank? Is the water fill valve in the correct position? Is the water valve to the icemaker in the on position?
If the freezer compartment is in need of defrosting then the ice maker will not be able to eject any made ice so it will not be able to add water to make more ice. If this is the case you will generally hear sort of a rhythmic grinding noise or growl as the maker attempts to eject the frozen ice. If this is the case then the freezer will have to be defrosted.
When I defrost I usually help with the use of a heat gun taking great care to not get too close to any of the plastic components or get the temp in the compartment too high. Caution is also needed to insure that the heat gun is well clear of dripping water from melting ice and frost.

I should have included what I have tried.
1.) Unplugged the ice maker and plugged back in.
2.) Tested for water at the input line to the ice maker at the solenoid valve = H20 there.
3.) Defrosted that side of the freezer compartment and dried out the compartment.
None of these have solved the issue.
The only thing that we did different this time from any other time is that we didn't lift the shutoff bail on the ice maker prior to turning off the water. Would that cause the motor to constantly run until it burnt out?

the ice maker in this unit will cycle normally water or no water if left on.This will not hurt anyything what so ever, check and make sure the water solinoid has not failed (locate in the pilot lite area)
so easy to get at

Last test -- will it make ice in ice cube trays -- if not it might be a bigger issue.
