We have a 38 ft pace arrow and need driving directions. My wife is scared of mountains. What is the best route, such as a truck route that we could take, that would have the least mountains. thanks
Unfortunately, Bryson City is right in the mountains, so there is no real easy way to get there without going through some mountain areas.
My suggestion is to take I-575 out of Atlanta. It will turn into Hwy 5 / 515 (and stay 4 lane). Follow Hwy 5 / 515 through Blue Ridge, GA to US 19 in Blairsville, GA. Take US 19 North towards Murphy, NC until you dead end into US 74. Follow US 74 / US 19 through Murphy and Andrews. Just before Bryson City, US 19 and US 74 split. Follow US 19 to Bryson City.
The only problem with this route is the section of US 74 / US 19 through the Nantahala Gorge. It is a bit windy, but is not that bad a road. There are two stretches of 2 lane on this route: US 19 from Bairsville to US 74 and US 74/US 19 through the Nantahala Gorge.
The only other option is a long way out which would be I-75 to I-40 (in Knoxville) to US 74 in Clyde, NC to Bryson City. This requires you to travel the twisty 28 mile section of I40 between Wilton Springs, TN and Lake Junaluska, NC (a section I have to drive regularly and hate with a passion).

Take US-411 east to Cartersville then GA-20 east to Canton. Then as TrailTJ outlined above. Also you can take GA-60 north from Blue Ridge to Mineral Bluff and GA-60 spur north to US-64. This will save a few miles over going all the way to Blairsville, it's 2 lane but GA-60 spur is good road with light traffic
