Anyone travel the Blueridge with a 32 ft. 5er?
Any problems with tunnels, bridges, or campgrounds.

Don't see why there would be a problem. large MHs travel the BRP all the time. And the CGs usually have large 5ers in them.

Just like anywhere else, there will be a lot more sites that a pop up can fit into than a large trailer. We've always managed to find a spot every time we've been there with our 34 footer.

No problem. Here is a link to the tunnel clearances along the parkway. The heights are the minimum toward the sides of the tunnels. If you stay in the middle, you'll have no problem.

Keep in mind the heights shown on the above site are for the outside edge of the road. The middle of the tunnels are much higher. We are 13' 2" and have traveled from end to end. On the close ones, we just moved toward the middle.

Yes, there are a number of low clearances along the route (25 to be exact.) One is only 10' 6"! Go to the web site:
http://www.nps.gov/blri/planyourvisit/tunnel-heights.htm
There are probably only two clearances that will be a problem, though.

We travled the parkway today from Ashville to Little Switzerland, Nc. Went through around six tunnels and the only one that was marked showed 13'6''. The roads are narrow and the speed limit was from 25 mph to 45 mph. A lot of ups and downs and sharp turns. I would prefer not to go any long distance on the park way. We did this without our fifth wheel.

There are some low tunnels as you approached the Great Smoky Mountains. The heights are 11'1", ll'3, and 10'6". All are just south of highway 19, pass mile marker 455, and are shown on the Blue Ridge Parkway map. I am going up Friday and don't expect much problem with the campsites as it will be a little colder then nornal this year which usually means empty campgrounds.
Please note that the campgrounds are usually closed by the end of October. The main Smoky Mountain camkgrounds will be open later (i.e. Smokemont & Elkmont).
The three main campgound were full on Friday night (Elkmont, Smokemont, and Cades Cove) I had to stay at Deep Creek campground. In hind site, I guess I have always stayed in the smokies on Monday or Tuesday. I hope I did't mess anyone up.
I also learned the the blue ridge parkway is closed between Mt. Pisgah and Asheville because of a landside.

By far the most relaxed way to see the Parkway, at least the NC part, is to leave the big RV in a campground, and tour in your TV or toad. That way, you can actually see some of the sights between overlooks. Otherwise, you're constantly concerned about grades, tunnels, staying on your side in curves, etc. You're unable to enjoy the views that you came to see except at overlooks, and some of them may be too small or crowded to get into.
