Although I am not a big fan of tuna casserole, my husband likes it. I decided to go back to a simple recipe and he said it turned out wonderful last night. It was easy to make on the only dishes I used were a large pot, strainer, and spoon.

12oz egg noodles
Large can of cream of mushroom soup (26oz I think)
12oz of tuna (large can or two small cans)
1-2 cans of green peas
10 slices of American cheese

Boil egg noodles until al dente in salted water (my pkg said 6 minutes). Drain and pour noodles back into pot. Add soup, drained tuna, and drained peas. Stir to mix. Tear cheese slices into smaller pieces and add to mix, stirring as you go. Stir until everything is well mixed and all cheese has melted. Add salt or pepper if desired.

Personal comments:
I added a bit of chedder cheese as I had some on hand that needed used up. I only used one can of peas, but next time I think I will use two. You can also use 2 cups of frozen peas and just throw them in with the egg noodles about halfway through. I also think I might add a can of mushrooms next time. The original recipe that I modified this from called for an onion. I used the chunk albacore tuna and I think that it had a much milder flavor than some of the other tunas out there.

your recipe sounds good. Thanks.
Something else you might try, while I am not a fan of Hamburger Helper, the Tuna Helper, Tuna Tettrazini is really good and a one pot meal. It is also really fast and simple.

In my house, I'm the Tuna casserole fan so on occasion when DH is gone I make it using a box mix of Mac & cheese. Add can of mushroom soup and tuna(drained). Add some potato chips on top if I have them.

We've made one for more years than I can remember that's very simple.
Cook a box of Kraft mac and cheese, add a can of tuna (I like a big one, but the 6oz works) a can of cream of mushroom soup and a small can of peas. put in a casserole dish and bake at 350 for 35 minutes.

I do the same thing only with cheddar cheese, and no PEAS! The kids and hubby love it, and I have to make it anytime the kids come home.

No PEAS?? LOL. They were my favorite part, but then I LOVE sweet peas! I could do it with no tuna though!

tuna casserole with no tuna! Too funny. I would switch the peas for green beans, my husband would like them better.

We heat up the can of cream soup and melt in a 8 oz. package of cream cheese.

My Hubby does NOT like tuna so I made tuna-noodle casserole with hamburger. Just follow tuna casserole recipe. He really likes that.
