I do not recommend it since it is possible that when subjected to a 65mph wind it may blow out.

But I do do it when I have to.

Yes on the furnace and no on the gen set.

Your furnace is sealed. Their is no way wind can get to it.

My rv is not set up for winter use, I do not have heat in the wet compartment, Has anybody ever modify theirs to have heat down there. The last time I was cougth in very cold weather I placed an 1500 watts electric heather in the compartment where all the manual valves are, hopping it would do some good, after a while I got concern about the safety of doing this so I turned it off. did ok. I was parked at the time.
