I am going to be buying a new (gently used) to me Cedar Creek 5er with gel coat.

One of the very first things I want to do is a complete and thorough cleaning inside, outside, topside, downside...well you get the idea.

Anyway, I have seen posts here recommending some very fine buffers/polishers. Doing a search of the forums, I cannot seem to locate any specific brands.

What does everyone recommend? Cost is not an issue unless it runs into above $500.

Yes, I am aware of burning through, take it easy on the gel coat, ya-ya, etc. so I'm not really looking for advice on how to use one, just looking for a very good unit.

Thanks in advance! I know you all will come up with just what I am looking for.

Porter Cable 7336 or 7424. You will want a Random orbital Buffer in whatever brand you choose.

Thanks falconman! That was the exact product I was looking for. I just couldn't remember that it was a Porter Cable!

X2...The exact unit I use on all of my vehicles. Also get a replacement hook&loop backing plate with the foam pads. Use a separate pad for cleaner, another for polishing and another for wax.

Just purchased this Porter Cable 7424 XP Starter Kit, I had a mess on the front of the FW from a recent trip to central Florida and back, love bugs, don't like them.
