We've never camped where we have hookups. So I would have to say it's a tie between my little Weber BBQ (briquets) and my propane stove. I also carry a Camp Chef Weekender stove for complete outdoor cooking.

With electric, it has to be my electric dutch oven. I can fry in it. I can slow cook. I can make soups. I didn't think I would like it, but now I wouldn't trade it. I'd like to find one for my house.

A charcoal grill gives more flavor, but as others have stated, that waiting 20-30 minutes can be a killer!

BBQ tools are a must! I have a pair of medium length tongs that the ends are covered in silicon. The tongs come in handy for cooking on the stove inside the RV as well as grilling on the BBQ.

I have a Westbend crock pot for the RV. Here's a link Crock Pot

What I like about this crock pot is that the pot comes off the heating element and I can use the pot on the stove or in the oven. I like that it can do double duty. The heating element is also a small griddle (I've never used it for this purpose).

A lot of people bring along their George foreman grill RVing. Besides grilling, the GF grill can also be used to make panini sandwiches too! I like to cook my thick sliced bacon on my GF grill. I cook the whole package up at one time at home and then freeze it. Take out what I need when needed and microwave it for a few minutes. Great for breakfast, sandwiches or salads!

Small electric appliances are handy in the RV because you can use then in the RV or plug them in outside and not heat up the inside of the RV.

I am a SLOPPY cook so I only cook outdoors and never have shore power......I prefer charcoal over propane so when I park, the grill comes out and gets lit, FIRST thing!....When I'm done setting up, the coals are ready to cook on and I'm ready for a cold one.

I do have a 2 burner and a 1 burner (propane) stove but I also have a 1 burner (butane) stove....Depending on how many people I'm cooking for, and what I'm cooking is how I choose which stove to bring along....I do prefer the butane stove though.

I guess I'm just a tent camper "at heart"...

For a great multipurpose item IMHO you can't do better than a NESCO roaster oven you'll forget the crockpot. Alot more versitile. You can cook low and slow like a crockpot or crank it up just like the oven. I have 4 qt models for the house and one in the trailer as well as a 18 qt for large items for the house. With models available from 4 qt up you get one that suits your needs based on the size of your family.
