I hate to say it but I'm beginning to dought an awful lot of the things people tell me these days.

It's the times. Morals are going out the door with the younger generation and the time of a man's word being his bond is probably coming to a close.

After working for the school for the past 15 years, as a bus driver, sub teacher, and teacher, I've found that kids do not tell the truth. So many kids on my bus route come from poor home life, and so many can not be trusted. I've learned to deal with the problem, but makes me worry about the next generation.

If the youth are lying more today, it is because our generation taught them that it is OK. When young people see some of our most respected people making millions lying or telling half truths on radio, TV, the lecture circuit, and the pulpit, and their parents and friends accepting it as truth, it is teaching them that is OK to tell less than the truth if it helps one's cause or is profitable.
I do not believe the youth of today are lying any more than our generation. Our generation is just better at masking or hiding it in half truths.

Very well put. When the youth of our country our being shown the wrong way to act by their so called "role models", those without a strong moral compas to ground them will follow. It has become an accepted practice it seems to get where you want and what you want by lying.
My brother has lied so long I don't even think he realizes he does it now. And he gossips worse than 20 church ladies in a pew! Therefore I avoid him like the plague and if I must get caught by him, I usually give him a tid bit of info, then change the subject to drive him crazy.
I, however, just passed a lie detector test last week for a job opening. The brother is older and got all the lying gene's thank goodness!
and yet you came to a forum where every word could be a lie simply because we don't personally know all the people on the forum ( this answer could also be a lie)
If at first you don't succeed--don't try sky diving!!
I'd rather be camping
