Do a search on Workhorse brakes. You'll then be buying the V10.

New ones are fine.

It's not just the bad brakes, but the way Workhorse blew it off for years until NHTSA forced them to do something. And even now, No one knows when the "fix" is going to be available or what the "fix" will be.

One thing else that hasn't been mentioned is the much more plentiful number of service sites for the Ford vs the Workhorse.

Ford= Ford Engine, Ford chassis, Ford Trans, brand x MH
Chevy= Chevy Engine, WH chassis, Allsison Trans, brand x MH
Your choice, only have owned Fords so I'm biased.

I guess that's important if you own a Ford.

I have had both engines and both are good. I prefer the GM 8.1 with the Allison 6 speed transmission.

I've owned several Chevy's over the years-----I was glad there were convenient dealers. Now with Workhorse.................

Sorry, I couldn't resist.

Actually all of my street vehicles (cars & trucks) have always been Dodge or Plymouth back to the days in the mid-60's. In our racing days, everything was Ford powered.

I like the high rpm performance of Ford's V-10, but hate the sound of it. I would rather listen to the lower-pitched roar of a big-block V8 with 90-degree crank (180-degree cranks sound as weird as the V-10).

My real preference would be a 8 to 12 liter straight six loafing along at 1200-1800 RPM, but you can't get those to fit a modern gasser RV chassis, cylinders that big now come only in Diesel.
