The American one G614 Goodyear. Anything else comes in on a boat.

As I understand it you dont have any choice in a G rated tire. Goodyear.

unanimous Goodyear. Make sure your rims can carry the 110psi. Getting ready to put a set on . I think it's my only choice with 7k axles other than the dreaded ST's.

There are other G's but they are foreign and probably not much different than the STs as far as quality and reliability.

As an emergency replacement - we did end up with Greenball Hiway Trooper G rated tires for about a year until we traded in the rig. In fairness they were 30% cheaper and did fine, but they said TIAWAN in the sidewall. Given the better selection from home, I went with the G614 this time to stay with a USA selection.

There are a few other foreign G rated tires, but I don't know the names. The Montana Big Sky ran some off-brand G tire in 2007 for a while before Goodyear/China ST Marathon's came out in a size that fit in 2008.

In re: GY G614 (The good, bad, ugly)

Suggested reading. Go to the Escapees HDT forum. (Many heavy trailers there)
In the search feature enter - "G614"
Lots and lots of reading available. Special attention to the 16 page thread,
"WARNING--Goodyear G614"

Many that needed "G" tires have gone to 17.5 (rims & "H" tires).

The "consolation" (good!) - GY seems to pay for trlr damage caused by their tires.

I had GY 614 on our fiver & had bad luck with them lost tread on one & blow out on two. I went with 750X16 14ply tires. Now I was looking around & came up with with this do not know if they will work but you may want to look up Michelin XZA 825x16 14 PLY have not done any home work on them.

My camper came with Carlisle tires that shredded after just three years of normal use. They were covered when the camper was not in use too. I now have Goodyear tires and they are holding up just fine. They're not cheep but they are American.

I am testing the China Made Free-star 235 85R 16G after going through Hercules (Merit OEM the best so far) wore them out, Uniroyal Laredo slung the cap, and Michelin Ribs slung the cap. I have had problems with all listed so I decided I would spend less and see if less is more. About 1500 miles so far, the others lasted a total of over 50,000. BTW, the Cat says only 8,800 on the axles but 3,300 on the pin.
