I find 'Hitting The Road' (in our 'B') to be an illuminating journey, a journey filled with adventure, freedom, and lack of prediction...

Can ya'll relate to this...

Nope, because I still have to come back within time limits to a job. Way too predictable, only temporary freedom, I do get the adventure, though. 1 3/4 years to go!

I can.

We love to surprise each other (our spouse that is) and say, "Wanna go somewhere?"
We just jump in the B and go for an overnighter or sometimes a weekend or in the summer (last summer) cross country for 7 weeks. Last week we went to Foxwoods Resort & Casino in CT and overnighted in our B while enjoying the casino and restaurants. We love the freedom to just "Go."

Same situation here with travel time limits. Last week I did get to drive the 'B' to Southern Indiana (14 hours round trip) for a 3 day business seminar.

I certainly failed to "predict" the hotel's parking garage would have a 7 foot opening for self-parking with a tour bus sized opening for valet-parking. As street parking was not an option, I had to use the valet. You all know what kind of thoughts run through your head when you let a complete stranger valet-park your car ... Now imagine turning over the keys to your 'B' for 3 days

It certainly was a leap-of-faith "adventure." Fortunately, the van was returned in fine condition, and I pretended I was on a camping trip all the way home

I can absolutely relate! We live for the days we can load up the B and head out of town and we're always trying to finagle (sp?) time off so we can go!

Lately I've been driving the B when I have my 12 hour shifts at work - it gives me an opportunity to go out and nap on my lunch break and "pretend" that I'm on vacation somewhere. The only problem is that darn loudspeaker in the parking lot paging someone (usually me) every 5 minutes or so - it really spoils the imagination.

juliev,

Are you the inspiration for that new ABC TV comedy The Middle? Have you seen it?

Haven't seen it. We turned off our satellite TV service since it won't work with all our trees.... and we can't get cable up here. What's it about?

It's a family sitcom staring Patricia Heaton (of Everybody Loves Raymond). She's a mother with three kids juggling family and job as a car salesman.
