Yet you were using Vista ?

Why did you break your own rule?

and lastly why not buy a Mac if you hate microsoft products?

I run a PC with Vista and Like most have not found any problems

and I can't remember having any crashes, I must confess I have a

very bad memory.

I've been using Vista on my HP laptop for about 2 years now without any real problems. But recently I started running out of disk space. So I decided to install a larger HD and at the same time upgrade to Windows 7.

I guess I'm the odd one here. I wanted to do a clean install on the new HD. I could not believe how easy this install went. Windows 7 found all of my devices on the HP laptop. I did not have to go hunting for any drivers for the laptop! Windows 7 found everything, booted up fine the first time, found my wireless card, connected to the internet and downloaded all updates needed for the devices!

One of the best perks of this install - All of that lousy HP support stuff is GONE!

Unbelievably smooth installation. I'm not a Windows bigot, but the installation sure impressed me!!!

I had no choice with Vista. I came bundled with my new laptop when I bought it. I didn't want it but thought I would give it a chance. This purchase only confirmed one of the reasons why I stay one OS behind.

Please show me where I said I hate Microsoft products.

I don't buy a Mac because I have never wanted one and I still don't want one.

This purchase only confirmed one of the reasons why I stay one OS behind. YOU HAVE MORE REASONS? OK.

Please show me where I said I hate Microsoft products. IMPLIED BY YOUR STATEMENT, YOU DON'T HATE MICROSOFT? GREAT.

I don't buy a Mac because I have never wanted one and I still don't want one. NEVER? EVEN AFTER ALL THE TROUBLE YOU HAD WITH VISTA OS ON A PC?

Tech article in newspaper today says, if you have Vista, to stay with it and don't upgrade. Says Windows 7 is only impressive because of the #7.

Yeah we already had our Thanksgiving and ate too much dead bird and all that. Have fun with yours, and watch the stuffing - its fattening you know!

I said it slightly different than you.
I pronounced it "Adios Vista"

Have a good one yourself.

I find there is always newspaper reports from one end of the spectrum to the other. I guess it all depends who's writing the article and what their own opinion is.

Or perhaps in my case, who did not have success with Vista vs. who did!

I was also impressed by the installation. I did a "Custom" install on a Dell machine and used it to delete the old Dell recovery etc partitions, format the drive, and install Windows 7. Very easy, no driver issues, no problems.
