My wife and are ready to step up into a 2003 Discovery and want to go full time in the next year. My question to you helpful members is. This Motor home only has 1700 miles on it, and only 165 hours on the generator. I'm not sure if I should be worried about the engine having so few miles and what problems I might have when I start running it the way it should be run.I have been a member and read thousands of topics and learned a wealth of knowledge here at RV.net. Thank you for any help.
You will need to check everything, and proably need to do a complete maintaince cycle (Tires, Hoses, Belts, Filters, Fluids, Grease, etc...) unless you have records that they have all been replaced. Also you will need to look at he chassis very closely to make sure all the moving parts are not sticking. A DP that is 6 years old ond only 1,700 miles means it really didn't move a whole lot.
I agree with Gonnacall, have everything checked. My MH had about 1200 miles on it brand new. So 1700 is barely more than the delivery mileage. Make sure someone checks for flood damage. There may not be any in the living areas because the MH sits so high. But have them check the chassis with a fine toothed comb.
If you give more information as to where you found this RV you will probably get more information in return. For instance, a private owner resale or an untitled new unit on a dealer lot?

Before you give someone a piece of your mind, make sure you can get by with what's left.

The person that had this DP is a single lady with disposable income she show dogs here in the upstate New York area. The dealer selling it probably has the service records, BUT sometimes I question the service department and what THEY actually do. Thanks for the responses.

I'm betting she drove it about 6 times a year to competitions not to far. but it got used regularly, NOT just sitting around
i might be wrong, but you won't know until you ask
You make perfect sense. I called the dealership and found out she traveled about 60 miles from her home to the camp sight and then she traveled with others to shows. So yes she did use it, not in the way the (normal)person travels
