After all these responses there is still one thing you are going to need.

A bigger tow vehicle!

From now on - I'll be bringing our Track Radio. No - not to listen to racecars, but ours also picks up CB channels. On our last trip, we got "parked" for 3 1/2 hours due to a fatal motorcycle crash on I-75 - and it would have been nice to know what the truckers (who always know!) knew??

We bring along our propane Campfire-in-a-Can. Our allergies kick our butts when we make a wood fire. And it seems that no matter which side of the fire we move to in an effort to avoid the smoke, within minutes it has found us again.

I removed posts with references to firearms as they were starting to get a little out of hand.

Please do not turn this great thread into a gun thread. It's not needed or wanted in this part of the forum.

First post. I am going to pick up my rig in a few days. I'm single, retired, and plan a trip southwest for part of the winter. I bought something small so it would be easy tow and easy on the gas/pocketbook. There is a lot of good info in this thread for a newbie, I am taking notes.

I'm a newbie and enjoyed reading this thread. Thanks for all the insight.

Too bad of the firearm restrictions but I guess it could get out of control.

These are a definite essential in my book.
