Been gone on long trip and not sure I heard or read this correctly. The federal government is offering a whopping tax credit for the purchase of a street legal electric golf cart.
Has anybody participated? If so, where and when.
This sounds like free money (and too good to be true). I've been looking for awhile and this may force my reluctant hand.

Thanks guys (and gals), Kerry

WOW!! Have read the links. Good info.
If JFK were alive today what do you think he would say?
If we find any of these deals in the Las Vegas area I will post the hard facts. Then go to all my neighbors and thank them. Having been a business owner I know somebody, somewhere, has unknowingly paid for my street legal "golf cart". And I am grateful.

since they lease it back for 27 months it sounds to me like they keep the cart and lease it out at their facility. it's yours at the end of the 27 months or they give you 2 grand for it. and I would question getting the deduction if you don't possess it.
sounds like a scam to me.

I was thinking the same thing. If GC don't have VIN's, then at the end of 27 months how would you know that the GC their 'returning' to you is youres? Perhaps it's just the one that they want the least or is worth the least.

OR

If the contract states that it's their option to buy back or give back the GC, then that would work in their favor as well. Any GC that is worth more then 2K, they get to buy at the 2K price. Any GC that is worth less then 2K, you get to keep.

I just googled the ada electric cars website in OK. They got all the information. That's the company quoted in the Wall Street Journal.
The guy in FL seems way too one sided.

We were in ADA and stopped in his place. I only had a few minutes, but he is a very informed guy. we were told the fed tax credit is 4000 and if you are a oklahoma resident they have another tax credit of up to 4000 depending on your taxes. the carts have headlights, taillights, turn signals, license plates, horns, etc and are street legal (well at least were street legal in sept)for streets that speed limit is 45 or less. no air no heat. price tag was 8000. so if you qualified for the max tax credits it would be like getting it for next to nothing.
