God bless Derrick.....

I am just starting to heal after a friend since childhood at 53 simply had a fatal heart attack---the trip down to the banks helped that...and I found a great place too...we did not have enough time to divert from the DelMarVa to get over to Galax but we will after winter....I just winterized yesterday as until late March due to work obligations..that's it for this season...

On a happier note to add to your blog....I got my first diesel shower this weekend...I was coming back on 13 and stopped at the Royal Farms truck stop...First pump did not work so I circled around to another pump..got that to work and put on the tab to hold the diesel pump on..never had a problem--turned by head and POW--shoes got it ground got it and pants got it...I was right there so nothing spectacular but Stella had to get me a change of clothes and we put the old clothes and shoes in a garbage bag and stored it below....

Also when driving through pooring windy rain be weary that your cameras are useless at night.

Ultimate happiness will be when I see NJ in my rearview mirror in about 8 years......

I just washed my jowels and I can't do a thing with them....

Stuart, stuff happens man! I got hit by a busted sewer hose after a Charlotte race at Flying Js. A person was emptying his tanks when the hose split in half and whoosh---YOO HOO all over the place. People at the pumps were hoppiing out of the way of the brown tide like the payment was on fire!

You let me know when you can make it to Deer Creek. Lot number 2 is yours to stay in as my guest. I will be there at the same time.

Gramps. I think most people don't know how to respond to your story, therefore they remain silent. But your story touches their heart and soul. Just like many have had similiar experiences but keep their thoughts to themselves, rightly or not.
I commend you for the courage to write and post about people who were (and still are) a big part of your life, and the tragic way their lives were ended. And twenty five years later (part 1 and 2) you found some relief for a burden carried so long. Some closure does not mean forgetting, as that will never happen. It's good you wrote and posted. Now we know you.

two-niner,

Thank you so much for that kind reply. My hope is that my stories, as much as they are a relief valve for me, will help someone else who has lost someone close to them.

Gramps,

I know what you mean in a small way. I have lost one of the dearest people, and that was tough. The Lord is good, and time does bring healing. However, there are times, good times, that it all comes back. Thanks for the story, in did bring everything back for me, but it was good.

God bless,

John
