I picted up my MIFI 2200 last night and it installed right away at speeds that were on par with Comcast. I think the USB type cards do have antenna's but I do not expect to need one. Time will tell.

My AT&T Mercury Sierra 885 card has an antenna attachment.
When looking at the card there is a small, almost invisible, little flap on the side that opens up.

We're on our third one. They sent us a new one for free so we're still happy. The little connector where the antenna plugs in isn't attached well and it just pulls out. Supposedly this has been fixed but that's what they told us when they sent the second one. It works well though when it's not broken.
OK, thanks for the replies. The USB881 Connect is no longer available according to the at&t website. Is anyone using a currently available data card from at&t with a external antenna that isn't breaking? The local at&t store is clueless. Thanks.
