I have a 1999 Monoco LaPlama with a Ford v10 on a ford chassis, my MH has 41000 miles on it. The engines run well. just wanted to know if spark plugs need to be replace. Anything will help

Not sure when the Tritons starting going 100,000 miles between plug changes but I THINK the 99 would be in that same category. If they're coil over plugs then 100,000 is the magic number. I changed mine at 120,000 and notice no real difference so they're actually good for a lot more than 100,000 in most cases.

Does anyone have a Ford Technical Manual?
I'm wondering if a decade of use, even with only about 40% of the life of the plug would warrant a change.
We change the tires or the oil before it is actually due, or appears to have reached it's limits.
My concern would be in trying to get those plugs out of the block. I doubt they were installed with any never-seez!
If you are planning to do the work yourself, you should try and loosen them, while the engine is hot. Once you've loosened them, you can wait for the engine to cool down to do the change out.
Personally, I'd change them after 10 years of service, but others may have different opinions, and I'd wonder what Ford says about it???

IIRC, the 1999 motor was one that the heads had only about 4 threads holding the plugs in... Spark Plug change on this model (and all models of V10 for that matter) has a very definite procedure and torque values...
If your intent on changing plugs, I would suggest that before you tackle this job ypu go over to the FTE V10 FORUM and ask for a little guidance - they can direct you to the correct procedure and parts required...

I have heard advice along the lines that Papappy gives, namely that although the plugs can go 100,000 miles before they "need" to be changed, they may be hard to get out, especially if those 100,000 miles are stretched out over a longer than average period. But it sounds like several people here have gone that far without having trouble removing the plugs. I'm not sure, because most of my vehicles have been diesels up to now, so the question was irrelevant to me. But not now since I have two Ford V-10s.
With all of the head problems, I would leave them in. If they absolutely positively need to be changed, I would take them to a Ford dealer, you may have a fighting chance if something goes wrong while they change the plugs. Before you go in document that there are no leaks around the plugs.
